Finally, my Cosmo-inspired cider completed fermentation and officially kegged last night!
I have always been a fan of Carrie from “Sex and the City” and her fancy pink drinks. I give her credit for always ordering one without knocking it over. Since I know I’m not as graceful as Carrie and her Cosmos,I thought I would make a Cosmo-inspired cider. My version: “Sex and the Cider” 9% ABV is made of zesty lemon, sweet and tart cranberry juice, a dash of lime, and perfectly pink.My only suggestion is to sip it slow because it does not taste boozy to say the least. In addition to my usual cidermaking routine, I tested Amoretti Tart extract and fell in love with the results. I can’t wait to try out some of their other products.
Where can you get “Sex and the Cider?” I am pouring this delightful treat at the Long Island Ales Charity Event (organized by The Hopster Beer Co. and Long Island Ales) this Friday at Parkside Christian’s in Farmingdale (7-11pm). Proceeds for this event will go to the Peter William Simmons Memorial Fund, which will be donated to the Winthrop Hospital Neo-natal intensive care unit (NICU) and perinatal bereavement association.
Admission is FREE and tickets for tastings are pay as you go. I hope to see you at this heart-warming event!
