Who We Are

Dear Outcasks…

Many of you who know me can say that I have been heavily active in the craft brewing community since 2007. I have been an avid supporter of Long Island brewers and have traveled up and down the east coast to meet wonderful brewers and beer enthusiasts. With my love for craft beer and journalism, I launched Bier Magazine, Inc. in 2008. Thousands of visitors subscribed to Bier Magazine to read about news in the brewing community, home brewing 101, hilarious home videos, blog posts, and more.

However, in 2011, I was diagnosed with a gluten-allergy and decided it was best to put the magazine to rest. This life change was difficult, and it pained me to “give up” my love for craft beer. But as they say,  “If you love something let it go. If it comes back it was meant to be; if it doesn’t it, it was never meant to be.”  So I let my love go, and it came back!

As I start my new chapter in life living with a gluten-allergy, I’m experiencing new ways to brew: gluten-free beer and cider. I’m inviting all of the Bier Magazine readers to join us here on The Outcask, and I’m extending a welcome to new readers who landed on our site.

My team and I look forward to connecting brewers and beer enthusiasts, educating newbies, covering news and events, and of course, sharing out of the box brewing!

Cheers,

Michelle
