Busy Brewing

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted on here. I haven’t been outside the beer culture, in fact, I’ve been super busy at events and brewing this summer! I just finished “11:11,”  a dry-hopped cider that I brewed with citra hop leaves. I’ve brewed this type of cider before for the Great Beer Expo (Belmont) last November, but I made a no-no and didn’t write down the recipe. Although it doesn’t taste quite the same, I’m pleased with the way it turned out, and this time I made sure that the recipe along with daily notes were kept in my notebook. If you’re on Long Island, I welcome you to contact me and set-up a bottle share.

I immediately got started on my next cider, which will be available at Long Island Craft Classic on August 6 at Hecksher Park (East Islip). Tickets for this event sell out quick, so be sure to buy yours now. This Pina Colada cider is inspired by my last relationship. My significant other, who went from drinking Bud Light to craft beer, and now a home brewer himself, secretly loved Pina Coladas (well, not a secret anymore). In honor of our love, I dedicate Brettastic Boombastic to him.

So far, it’s exploded in my face, much like the relationship, but I’m confident that it will turn out amazing. So stay tuned on my social media for updates on Instagram and Twitter!

Lastly, I want to announce some news on the career front. I’ve accepted a position with L.I. Brew Bus last month, a company on Long Island that specializes in educational tours of local breweries. I’m extremely excited about this position. For years, my brothers and I had a pipe dream of opening up a beer tour business that would safely transport us to the breweries. Even though we didn’t end up following our dreams, somehow that dream followed me. To help celebrate my news, I invite everyone to tour with me this summer and sharing a special sale. That wraps up my updates! I hope you’re enjoying your summer. I’d like to hear from you! Tell me about your events, recent brews that you’ve discovered, and tips that you have for your fellow home brewers (including myself).

Cheers!
