Pour the Core, and a Little Bit of Autumn

The sixth annual Pour the Core will take place on Saturday, September 30 at a new location, Heckscher State Park. Although it literally poured rain last year, it didn’t stop me and my fellow homebrewers from participating again. Last year I hung onto summer and brought a Pina Colada cider to Pour the Core. So this year I teamed up with Billy Burke, also a homebrewer, and remade a fun recipe that I created once before.

We decided to embrace autumn fully and make a Maple Pecan cider, “#IPecantEven.” We had a little bit of trouble with this cider fermenting, but we’re confident it will encompass the flavor and aroma of autumn. You can find “#IPecantEven,” among other amazing homemade ciders, at the Handgrenades Homebrew and Craft Beer Club (HHCBC) table.

Pour the Core takes place 12:30-4pm, rain or shine! Tickets are $45 for general admission, $12 for designated drivers and can be purchased here. Until then, check out a little video montage from my Instagram page:
