Great South Bay Brewery winning Gold for Jetty Cream Ale.
The 2016 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) competition awarded 286 medals to some of the best commercial breweries in the United States, plus three GABF Pro-Am medals to teams of amateur homebrewers paired with professionals. Presented by the Brewers Association, GABF is the largest commercial beer competition in the world and a symbol of brewing excellence.
A special congratulations to the four New York breweries that won awards, including Great South Bay Brewery, located locally on Long Island. Here are the New York State winners:
- Category 15: Honey Beer
- Gold: Jetty Cream Ale, Great South Bay Brewery, Bay Shore, NY
- Category 30: Wood- and Barrel-Aged Sour Beer
- Gold: Sour Project Ale, Adirondack Pub and Brewery, Lake George, NY
- Category 77: Belgian-Style Witbier
- Gold: Ommegang Witte Ale, Brewery Ommegang, Cooperstown, NY
- Category 84: Belgian-Style Strong Specialty Ale
- Gold: Old Split-Foot, Broken Bow Brewery, Tuckahoe, NY
