Supporting the Industry During COVID-19
As of today, the COVID-19 has infected over 360,000 people, over 15,000 deaths. It’s expected to see this toll rise within the next few months. It’s a scary time for us, wondering about our health, job security, mental and emotional state, etc.. As someone who suffers from anxiety, I was surprisingly calm during this chaos the last few weeks until last week when I finally had a meltdown thinking about people who have passed away and those who are sick. I tried to be strong for my friends and family, I tried to add humor on my socials, but the truth is I’m currently unemployed and afraid of the financial burden that is about to come. My thoughts are parallel to yours, “How will we get through this?” Then I remember that I am alive and well. I have not forgotten to count my blessings: family, friends, clean food and water, safe shelter. There are those out there who are less fortunate than me. It’s a difficult time and we are all suffering in our own ways, but we have to remain united. It may be a rainstorm now, but it cannot rain forever.
There are activities we can do to maintain mental stability and ways we can support the industry. Breweries were there for you when they provided exciting festivals, innovative beers, and memorable times for you and you friends in the taproom. Don’t let your second home slip away. I cannot stress how important it is for you to show support to breweries and all businesses of the hospitality industry. There are ways for you to stay safe while still supporting them! Check out the link here to find out how.
But what about cider? Yes!! We’re hearing about breweries, bars, restaurants, and distributors struggling during this time but cideries needyour support too!! Click here to see the cideries and meaderies that have remanned open for you.
Spread love, not feat. Stay strong everyone!
